Given current conditions and the weather forecast, the City is maintaining the INTERVENTION mode, activated on April 17, 2026, in accordance with the Ville de Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue’s emergency plan.
It is imperative that all residents near Lac des Deux-Montagnes remain vigilant and, if necessary, take the necessary measures to protect their homes.
SUMMARY OF THE SITUATION:
The Ville de Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, in collaboration with the Centre de sécurité civile de Montréal, is continuously monitoring the situation.

WEATHER:
According to Environment Canada’s forecast for April 24, no significant precipitation is expected over the next few days.
LAC DES DEUX-MONTAGNES:
The flow of the Ottawa River at the Carillon Dam has decreased slightly today and is expected to remain stable over the next few days.
Water levels at Lac des Deux-Montagnes, in Parc Godin, are stable; however, it is important to remain vigilant. In case of an emergency, please call 9-1-1.
LAC SAINT-LOUIS:
Water levels are stable and are currently below the minor flood threshold.
CHEMIN DE L’ANSE-À-L’ORME:
Chemin de l’Anse-à-l’Orme has been closed since Sunday, April 19, until further notice, between Chemin de Senneville and Rue Timberlea-Trail. The intersection of Chemin de Senneville and Boulevard Gouin Ouest remains accessible.
ON THE GROUND:
Teams are ready to respond in accordance with the following measures:
Water levels in Lac des Deux-Montagnes and Lac Saint-Louis are being continuously monitored;
The Promenade du Canal and the area along Rue Lalonde remain under 24-hour surveillance for potential flooding;
Rue Sainte-Anne, between Rue Saint-Charles and Rue de l’Église, remains under 24-hour surveillance for flood risks;
The Public Works Department remains on 24-hour INTERVENTION mode and monitors equipment (pumps, generators, etc.);
The Municipal Patrol is on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week;
An email address is available: mesuredurgence@sadb.qc.ca. This email address can be used at any time for non-emergency situations;
Residences and businesses located in areas surrounding Lac des Deux-Montagnes can receive up to two pallets of sand free of charge if the situation requires it. Affected property owners may request sand by calling 514-457-6666 Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to noon, or at any time via email at mesuredurgence@sadb.qc.ca. Unless otherwise notified by the City in the event of an emergency, sandbags will be delivered on weekdays from Monday through Friday, inclusive.

Temporary winter shelters, whether car shelters, porches or other shelters, are permitted from October 15 to April 15 of each year.
Temporary winter shelters are authorized under the following conditions: (taken from article 4.6 of by-law no 533)
The shelter can be installed between October 15 of one year and April 15 of the following year. The shelter must be completely dismantled (structure and canvas) no later than April 15 and stored;
The shelter can cover an existing porch, balcony or portico, even if the latter is deviating in terms of area, dimensions or location. The shelter can also be installed directly on the ground, adjacent to the intended access;
A maximum of one (1) shelter is authorized per unit;
The maximum height of the shelter is set at 3 meters. If a roof or an eave is existing, the shelter can join its lower side;
The maximum area of the shelter corresponds to the area of the porch, balcony or portico. Also, an additional area of 5 square-meters is authorized for a shelter installed directly on the ground;
No storage is allowed inside the shelter, with the exception of the equipment necessary for snow removal on the condition that access to the house remains free. In addition, the shelter cannot be heated or insulated;
The structure of the shelter must be designed to withstand snow loads;
No shelter is permitted within a sight triangle;
A minimum distance of 1 meter must be maintained between a street line or the edge of the sidewalk and the shelter.
