Spooky & Starry Scavenger Hunt

Join RASC Montreal for a scavenger hunt followed by a short presentation. If the sky is clear of clouds, the observatory telescope will be used to look at the moon as part of the International Observe the Moon Night. RASC members will provide extra telescopes for your star gazing enjoyment. Who knows what might pop up on this frightful night!

This is a FREE public event but donations to RASC Montreal are appreciated.

Wear adequate layered clothing for the weather. Meet at the Conservation Centre of the Morgan Arboretum.

Arboretum | Halloween in the Haunted Forest

Strange things are happening this Halloween at the Morgan Arboretum. The Orange Trail and Chalet Pruche are open at night for this scary and educational event! Trick or treaters are invited to walk the Orange Trail and collect candy along the way from the spooky creatures of the forest.  Those who dare are invited to enter Chalet Pruche, which is transformed into a haunted house every year around Halloween. This fun family event mixes environmental education with a Halloween theme. Enjoy the serene peace of the forest at night, some fun frights and of course candy for all!

Conference | Wildlife at the l'Anse-à-l'Orme

The presentation will feature the animals of the L’Anse-à-l’Orme area, which Rob Baker has been tracking in for over 15 years. He will present photos of the tracks and signs left behind as the animal moves across the landscape. White tailed deer, coyotes, deer mice, red fox, meadow voles, and mink, otter, and fishers are some of mammals inhabiting the L’Anse-à-l’Orme area.

Rob Baker | Tracking Workshop | Exploring the Rut of the White Tailed Deer

Come and experience the signs of White Tailed Deer in the rut or breeding season. Clear print tracks, scrapes, antler rubs, incisor feeding (debarking of trees), etc. and gain some insight into the one time per year that these Deer breed.
