Arboretum | Sugaring Off

Experience the onset of this spring in one of the few sugar maple groves remaining on the Island of Montreal. Enjoy a wagon ride to our sugar shack and learn how syrup is made in the traditional way: on a wood fire, from sap collected in buckets. German sausages, hotdogs, drinks and, of course, taffy on snow will be sold at a nominal charge.

This is, for the most part, an outdoor event. We don’t take reservations.

Free for members, regular entrance fees apply to non-members:
Child $4.50, Adult $8, Senior & Student $5.50, Family $20

Don’t miss this rare chance to hear two excellent choirs, both based in Sainte-Anne, performing separately and together. The programme includes Earth Song (Frank Ticheli),  Da Pacem (Arvo Pärt) and a little Beau Dommage! The two choirs will join together to sing the Mi’kmaq Honour Song (Lydia Adams), Oscar Peterson’s Hymn to Freedom, and more. The audience is invited to mingle with the singers at a reception after the concert.

Arboretum | Migratory Bird Spring Walk

Head out with Betsy McFarlane and become familiar with our local spring birds through guided observation! Come and search the Arboretum for as many spring migrants as possible. Learn about their natural history and discover the diversity of bird life here at the Morgan Arboretum.
