Bird Friendly City

The City of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue is proud to announce that it has become the thirteenth city in Canada, ans including the first in Quebec, to receive the "Bird Friendly City" designation. This designation, awarded by Nature Canada, recognizes and values the efforts made by the city to provide a safer environment for wild birds in urban areas.

To achieve this, the City had to implement several measures such as eliminating the use of harmful pesticides and rodenticides, developing municipal strategies to mitigate climate change impact and to protect natural features, biodiversity and key habitats in the municipality, and participating in citizen science initiatives for bird conservation.
