Reconstruction of the concrete pavement of Highway 40 eastbound in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue

Category : Info-works

Beginning April 29 in the evening, traffic will be diverted to the opposite direction of the highway, between Morgan Boulevard and the next entrance, where it will flow in the opposite direction. This scenario will be in place until the work is completed in the fall.

Closures and traffic management: Starting April 29 in the evening on Highway 40 eastbound

  • Complete closure between Morgan Boulevard and the Lee Avenue entrance. Traffic will flow in the opposite direction on the westbound lane.
  • Traffic bound for Exit #49 - Ch. Ste-Marie or the Gérard-Guindon Street area will have to take Exit #44 - Boul. Morgan, to reach their destination.
  •  In order to reduce the impact on road users, dynamic traffic management will maintain three lanes of traffic in the peak direction and two lanes in the opposite direction on the highway. Speed will be reduced in the area.

Reminders

  • This project consists of the reconstruction of the concrete pavement of Highway 40 eastbound between Boulevard des Anciens-Combattants in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue and the area west of Lee Avenue in Baie-D'Urfé.
  • The Highway 40 eastbound service road was connected last year between Boulevard des Anciens-Combattants and Pirie Avenue. The Highway 40 eastbound entrance from Anciens-Combattants Boulevard was also moved further east.
  • The Department will then complete the segment to St. Charles Boulevard in Kirkland. The timeline for the completion of this other section will be specified as soon as it is known.

In the event of unfavourable weather conditions or operational constraints, the implementation of contra-flow traffic on Highway 40 may be postponed.

In order to properly plan your travels, keep yourself informed of current and upcoming roadblocks by consulting the Quebec 511.

This project is included in the 2022-2024 list of road investments for the Montreal region.

The Ministère thanks road users for their cooperation. For the safety of road users and workers, it is essential to respect the signs in place.
