2nd public information session: inspection of submersible pump connections to municipal sewer systems

On August 9, the sanitary sewer system in the North sector was put to the test by extreme weather conditions, causing considerable damage to homes and municipal infrastructure.

In this context and faced with growing climate challenges, the City of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue is determined to adopt proactive measures to strengthen the resilience of its municipal infrastructure and minimize the impact on its citizens. Therefore, the City is undertaking an inspection and analysis process.

As part of this process, the City held an initial public information session on October 9, focusing on residential submersible pump connections in the North sector. This meeting initially excluded homes on Aumais and Vallée streets located north of Meloche and Cypihot streets.

A second public information session is now being held for residents of Aumais and Vallée streets located north of Meloche and Cypihot streets to discuss the inspection process for residential submersible pump connections to municipal sewer systems.

    • WHAT : Invitation to residents of Aumais and Vallée streets located north of Meloche and Cypihot streets, as well as residents of the North sector of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue.
    • WHEN : Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 7 p.m.
    • WHERE : Chalet Peter-Williamson (300 rue Cypihot, Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, QC H9X 4A7)

Inspections carried out as part of this process are necessary to verify the compliance of submersible pump connections and to ensure that they are not connected to sanitary sewers, in accordance with municipal by-laws.

During the information session, residents will be provided with all the details regarding the inspections, including how to book an appointment with the inspection company, how the inspection will be carried out, and the steps following the inspection.
