The ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable wishes to inform road users that eastbound Highway 40 (Félix-Leclerc) will be closed overnight on the weekend of September 29, 2023, in order to continue repair work on the Rue des Pins overpass in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. Overnight closures are also planned on the westbound service road of Highway 40.
Obstacles and traffic management
Highway 40 eastbound (towards Montreal)

Although these closures are carried out at night, episodes of congestion are possible. The Ministry advises road users who will have to travel in the area to allow extra time to reach their destination.

The Ministry thanks road users for their cooperation. For the safety of both road users and workers, it is essential to respect the signage in place.
A fifth lane is scheduled to reopen by September 29
The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable would like to inform you that by Friday, September 29, a fifth lane will once again be accessible to road users using the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge.
As part of its regular monitoring of the infrastructure's condition, in late fall 2022, the Ministry had identified the progression of certain existing cracks on a box girder located on the north side of the bridge (towards Vaudreuil-Dorion).
At the time, the required work was undertaken quickly, and the closure of an additional lane was necessary for the safety of workers and road users.
The reopening of this fifth lane will restore dynamic traffic management, enabling the reopening of three lanes in each direction during rush hour, according to the following schedule:
- Montreal-bound: between 4 a.m. and 11 a.m.
- Vaudreuil-Dorion-bound: between 1 p.m. and 2 a.m. the following day.
- With the reopening of this fifth lane on the bridge, the reserved lane set up for the duration of the reinforcement work will be removed. As a result, three lanes per direction will be open on Highway 40, upstream and downstream of the bridge.
The date on which this dynamic traffic management will be re-established depends on both operational constraints and weather conditions, which may compromise the work required to reopen the fifth lane on the bridge.
