Emergency Measures | Floods: Current Situation - Wednesday, April 15

Emergency Measures | Floods: Current Situation - Wednesday, April 15

Given the current conditions and weather forecasts, the City has activated INTERVENTION 1 mode, in accordance with the Ville de Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue’s emergency plan.

This activation is a preventive measure to mobilize personnel, material, and logistical resources in the event that the City needs to activate INTERVENTION 2 mode.

Based on today’s field surveys and the information available to us at the time of writing this newsletter, water levels in Lac des Deux-Montagnes and Lac Saint-Louis have not reached the minor flood level.

Teams are ready to respond and have all necessary resources at their disposal:

  • Water levels in Lac des Deux-Montagnes and Lac Saint-Louis are being monitored continuously.
  • The municipal patrol will be on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Material resources (pumps, generators, etc.) are ready to be deployed, and the Public Works Department is ready to respond if weather and flood conditions require the activation of INTERVENTION 2 Mode.
  • Residences and businesses located in areas surrounding Lac des Deux-Montagnes can receive up to two pallets of sand free of charge should the situation require it. Affected property owners can request this by calling 514-457-6666 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Please note that sandbags will only be delivered if INTERVENTION 2 is activated.

For those who haven’t done so yet, sign up for the new emergency alert system.

We remind you that the CodeRed alert system is no longer in service.

The Ville de Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue’s Flood Emergency Hotline is active. If you notice anything unusual, please contact the City at 514-457-6666.

For any other emergency, please dial 9-1-1.
